CID link generator
Paste a Google Maps link, a CID or a fact ID. You get the CID in decimal and hex, and a link to the business's profile on Google Maps.
Works with maps?cid= links, /maps/place/ links, ludocid= search links, or a plain decimal or hex value. Nothing leaves your browser.
What is a CID, and where do you find it?
A CID is the number Google gives to a business profile on Google Maps. It is a stable 64-bit number: the same CID points to the same profile every time.
You find it in a Maps link written maps.google.com/?cid=…, or in a search link with ludocid=. The address of a business page on Google Maps also holds a fact ID, two hex numbers separated by a colon (0x…:0x…): the second one is the CID in hex, and this tool converts it to decimal.
The link the tool builds opens that profile on Google Maps. Use it where you want one link to a business: a report, a spreadsheet, an email, a button on a website.
Questions about CIDs
What is a Google CID?
The CID (Customer ID) is a stable 64-bit number Google assigns to a business listing. It is the number in a maps.google.com/?cid= link and identifies the profile permanently.
How is the fact ID related to the CID?
In a Maps link you will see a pair like 0x…:0x… (the fact ID). The second half is the CID written in hexadecimal, so converting that hex to decimal gives you the CID.
Why is the CID treated as text and not as a number?
CIDs are 64-bit numbers, larger than the safe integer range of spreadsheets and most programming languages, so this tool keeps them as text to avoid rounding errors.
